Extras are optional items travelers can add to a booking. They come in two types:
Add-ons — activities, services, or upgrades that don't change the trip dates.
Extensions — fixed nights added before or after the trip that shift the traveler's dates.
Extras are managed in Inventory and then configured per departure for pricing and availability.
Permissions required: Tours → Create, Update · Bookings → Update
How to add an add-on
Add-ons are optional items that don't change the trip dates — activities, transfers, or upgrades.
Open the tour you want to configure and go to Inventory → Extras.
Click Add extra, then choose Add-on.
Fill in the fields below and save.
Field | Description |
Title | The name of the extra shown to travelers during booking (e.g. Private Photoshoot, Airport Transfer). |
Description (Required) | What the extra includes. Visible to travelers in the booking flow. Supports rich text formatting. |
Image | An image representing the extra, displayed to travelers during booking. Max. size: 20 MB. |
Charge type | Per traveler — quantity capped at the number of travelers in the booking. Each traveler can have at most one unit. |
Booking deadline | Days before the trip's last day by which the extra must be purchased. Set to 0 to allow purchases through the final day. Applies at checkout and post-booking; admins can still add it manually past the deadline. |
Eligible for installment payments | When enabled, the extra can be paid through the booking's installment plan, folding into the payment schedule like the rest of the booking. When off, it isn't included in installments. |
How to add an extension
Extensions add fixed nights before or after the trip and shift the traveler's dates, so you can sell pre- and post-trip stays.
Open the tour you want to configure and go to Inventory → Extras.
Click Add extra, then choose Extension.
Fill in the fields below and save.
Field | Description |
Title | The name of the extension shown to travelers during booking (e.g. 2 nights in Athens, Post-trip beach stay). |
Description | What the extension includes. Visible to travelers in the booking flow. Supports rich text formatting. |
Image | An image representing the extension, displayed to travelers during booking. Max. size: 20 MB. |
Position | Whether the nights fall Pre-trip (before the tour starts) or Post-trip (after it ends). |
Nights | The fixed number of nights the extension adds — a whole number, 1 or more. Travelers can't change it. |
Order | When several extensions stack on the same side, the sequence they're applied in. Must be unique per side within a tour — a duplicate blocks the save. |
Charge type | Always per traveler — extensions are priced per person and assigned to the travelers taking them. There's no per-booking option. |
Booking deadline | Days before the trip's last day by which the extension must be purchased. Set to 0 to allow purchases through the final day. Applies at checkout and post-booking; admins can still add it manually past the deadline. |
Eligible for installment payments | When enabled, the extension can be paid through the booking's installment plan, folding into the payment schedule like the rest of the booking. When off, it isn't included in installments |
Example
The Weekend in Paris tour runs Sep 20–22, with three Post-trip extensions:
Loire Valley châteaux — Order 1; 2 nights
French Riviera — Order 2; 3 nights
Provence & lavender fields — Order 3; 2 nights
Whatever a traveler picks chains from the trip's end in Order — the ones they skip leave no gap:
All three → Loire Valley châteaux Sep 22–24, French Riviera Sep 24–27, Provence & lavender fields Sep 27–29 → trip ends Sep 29
Loire Valley châteaux + Provence & lavender fields (skips the French Riviera) → Sep 22–24, then Sep 24–26 → trip ends Sep 26
French Riviera + Provence & lavender fields (skips the Loire Valley châteaux) → Sep 22–25, then Sep 25–27 → trip ends Sep 27
⚠️Important
Extension dates are calculated automatically from each traveler's picks and Order. To change a traveler's dates, adjust them on the booking (order line → Edit travelers & dates).
