How room types work

An overview of how room types work and how to configure them in the Inventory section

Updated this week

Room types are configured in the Inventory section and define the room options travelers can choose during booking.

Room types are created at the tour level and apply to all departure dates within that tour.

Configure room types

Room types are managed in the Inventory section of a tour.

  1. Open the Tour → Inventory section (1)

  2. Click Add accommodation (2)

Room type fields explained

When adding or editing a room type, you can configure the following fields:

Room name

The name of the room type shown to travelers during booking
(for example: Single room, Twin room, Villa).

PAX

The number of travelers that can stay in one room of this type.

Example:

  • Single room → 1 PAX

  • Twin room → 2 PAX

  • Villa → 6 PAX

Room prefix

An internal identifier for the room type. It is used in the manifest.

Room color

An internal color label used across the back office.

Room settings

  • This room can be shared between travelers from different bookings

    • Enabled – travelers from different bookings can share the room (for example, shared twin or dorm-style rooms).

    • Disabled – all travelers in the booking must fill the room to its full PAX capacity. For example, a 2-PAX non-shared room requires exactly 2 travelers — 1 traveler alone cannot book it.

  • Ask travelers about roommate preferences
When enabled, travelers are asked to provide roommate preferences during booking. This question only appears if the number of travelers doesn't fill complete room units (for example, 3 travelers booking a 2-PAX room).
